Beroe’s team is the new leader in the efbet league after registering a landslide victory over the Black Sea at Stara Zagora. Dimitar Dimitrov’s players showed no mercy against Varna’s side tormented by a series of problems and prevailed with 4: 0 under Ayazmoto.
Stara Zagora showed excellent football and naturally did not encounter any difficulties against her opponent.
Apart from the expressive success of the hosts, the match will be remembered with the controversial goal, which opened the result and the undeserved ambush. Ismail Isa was sent off with a direct red card in the second half.
After today’s victory, Beroe accumulated an asset of 14 points after six rounds with a goal difference of 17-3. The problems for the Black Sea are getting worse and the people of Varna have slipped to the unenviable 12th place in the table.
The game at Beroe Stadium started under pressure from home. In the first five minutes of the match, the match was played entirely by half of Varna’s guests, although Dimitar Dimitrov’s players were unable to take advantage of their territorial advantage.

Beroe continued to control the ball, but never managed to obstruct the opponent’s guard. Contrary to the logic and behavior of both teams, the first real scoring opportunity in the match was for the guests from the Black Sea. After a collective error in Beroe’s defense, Ismail Isa managed to escape the ambush and came out completely alone before goalkeeper Hristian Vassilev. However, his diagonal shot was skillfully deflected by the home base and the ball went to the corner.
In the 25th minute, Rodrigo Enrique of the Black Sea received a nasty stretch and had to be replaced by Denislav Angelov.
Strong moments followed for Beroe, whose team had two excellent chances to find the result. First, Kukula missed a very good pass from Fal down the left, and a little later, after a hesitant play by goalkeeper Georgi Georgiev, Makuta tried his luck, but missed the door frame.
In the 33rd minute the hosts had another chance. This time after a direct free kick cross, Teddy Mezag jumped over everyone and shot with his head, but sent the ball wide.
Beroe’s pressure still paid off five minutes before the break. After another attack by the hosts from the left, Krum Stoyanov went down the wing and after passing a defender of the guests, from the line managed to return the ball to the penalty spot. There Kukula was completely exposed and with a powerful shot without any preparation, he transferred goalkeeper Georgi Georgiev.
However, TV reruns showed, that when passing Krum Stoyanov on the left, the footballer is in an obvious ambush. However, the referees overlooked the situation in the match and in the end the goal was counted.
The second half started stronger for the guests, but their ambitions were quickly shattered after just six minutes of play, when Beroe scored his second goal of the match. After a new cross from the left, Kukula was once again the master in the penalty area and this time after a header, he rose to 2: 0.
The Black Sea defense completely collapsed in the 58th minute, as the hosts scored the third goal into their opponent’s net. Fal was carried to the right, but goalkeeper Georgi Georgiev came out and blocked his way. The hosts’ wing turned and found Ivan Minchev on the edge of the penalty area, who easily found the goal empty for 3: 0.
Immediately after the hosts’ third goal, National Ismail Isa acted extremely naïve and allowed Georgi Angelov to kick without the ball, which brought him a direct red card.
Varna’s collapse was completed by Aluin Fal, who made the final score 4: 0 in the 68th minute.
In the remaining minutes, the hosts continued to play in a good mood and missed plenty of other opportunities to make their success even more expressive.
