Krassimir Yankov will request a commission of inquiry to investigate the first direct election of a BSP leader. He was one of Ninova’s rivals in the election of a new president, which he convincingly won.

The last BSP National Council meeting adopted the BSP National Assembly report for the 4-year period / 2016-2020 / and the BSP General Assembly report for Bulgaria, presented by Cornelia Ninova. The reports were approved by an almost absolute majority, with only two against and three abstentions.
The report of the members of the European Parliament, presented by Petar Vitanov, leader of the Bulgarian socialists in the EP, was adopted by the members of the council with the same large majority.
Discussions on the briefing documents proceeded calmly and in a constructive spirit.
The National Council congratulated Cornelia Ninova for her outstanding success in the election as President.
The National Council adopted a resolution against the demonstrations and the emergence of neo-fascism and neo-Nazism in Europe.

This is the last meeting of the BSP National Council in this composition. The next party congress will elect a new National Council and a new narrow leadership chaired by Cornelia Ninova.
