Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today called his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron incompetent and ambitious due to the French head of state’s strong support for Greece in the crisis facing Greece and Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean, AFP and BTA reported.
During a video conference with local officials of his party, the Turkish president defended his strong international policy and directed another criticism against the French president, reports BTA.
“Some wonder what Turkey is doing in Syria, in Libya, in the eastern Mediterranean / … / If Turkey abandons everything, will France face the chaos caused by the incompetent and ambitious man who leads France and accept? a reasonable policy? ”Erdogan was quoted as saying.
Relations between Paris and Ankara have deteriorated significantly in recent weeks due to France’s support for Greece in its conflict with Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean.
