After managing to separate himself from GERB members for his own party, former Borisov party vice president Tsvetan Tsvetanov is now doing the same with UDF members in the Plovdiv region.
Representatives of the UDF from the six districts of Plovdiv and 15 municipalities in the district, about 300 people, will continue their political future in Tsvetan Tsvetanov’s political project “Republicans for Bulgaria”. This was announced by their representatives at a press conference in Plovdiv, reports BTA.
We are concerned about what is happening in the party, the lack of dialogue, as well as the leadership’s abdication of the possibility of doing politics. There is mistrust between party members in Plovdiv and the region and we believe there is a rejection of the ideals of the UDF, said Georgi Pilev. He added that some 300 party members from Plovdiv and the region have decided to continue their political future in another political entity. Tsvetan Tsvetanov’s project “Republicans for Bulgaria” is accepted as the closest to his ideals.
Toni Simidchieva, one of the founders of the UDF in Plovdiv, told BTA: “We will not let the UDF die and we will not cry for them. Because of these people, we have accumulated negatives for years and now we will have to restore everything destroyed by them. “.
