Team CSKA is in the third preliminary round of the Europa League! The Reds defeated BATE Borisov, winning 2-0 at home. Thus, CSKA broke the tragedy that weighed on the Bulgarian teams against this rival. In the two previous cases, the Belarusian team emerged victorious from their matches with Litex and Levski, but this time CSKA managed to face a tough rival.
The goals of the long-awaited success were the work of Ali Sow and Graham Carey at the end of both halves.
Gustavo Busato scored a penalty and several excellent performances, although he was the culprit of the 11-meter penalty with a score of 0: 0. The Belarusian guests hit two beams, but this time luck smiled on the home team.

The first good chance of the game came in the third minute of the game. Rafael Enrique received a deep foul in half of the guests. A memorized execution of the direct free kick followed, followed by a Maziku cross to the left, but a BATE defender managed to clear the leather ball. In the next ten minutes the game moved mainly to the center of the field, since the players of both teams did not take unnecessary risks in leading positions.
In the 13th minute came the first accurate shot of the game. Pavel Nehaichik received in front of the CSKA penalty area, turned around and shot from almost 22 meters, but could not in any way hinder Busato, who calmly caught the ball.
A few minutes later the locals made a very good attack on the left wing, which was organized by Bradley Maziku and Enrique. After an exchange of passes, the ball reached Enrique in the penalty area, who began to shoot, but the leather ball was killed by a defender in yellow.
In minute 25 the players of BATE Borisov I missed an excellent opportunity tolead in the result. The defense of the ‘reds’ was overcome with a single pass to Wilumson, who escaped the ambush, but failed to make a good shot and Busato managed to save.
The game continued at a leisurely pace when in the 33rd minute the guests scored a penalty. CSKA goalkeeper Busato acted very naively and seriously fouled Wilumson, punching him in the face.

CSKA waited for their moment in the last seconds of the first half. After another attack on the wings, Georgi Yomov, who had moved to the left, tried well and fired hard. Scherbitsky managed to kill, but sent the ball at the feet of Ali Sow, who with enviable composure directed it to the net.
The second part started with a slight territorial advantage for the Belarusian guests, who, however, could not hinder Gustavo Busato. In the 55th minute Enrique Rafael broke well on the left and after pretending to be a guest defense, he fired, but directly into the hands of the visiting goalkeeper. Seconds later, Antov also tried his luck, but his header was very weak and did not pose any difficulty for Shcherbitsky.
In the 62nd minute in front of Yunus Sankare he opened up a great opportunity to shoot from afar. The midfielder shot very hard, but his crosshairs betrayed him and he threw the ball over the right post.
A few minutes later, the guests had an excellent opportunity to equalize. Skavish’s shot from almost 23 meters in front of Busato, the CSKA goalkeeper managed to touch the ball, which then bounced off the crossbar.
The final result was formed by substitute Graham Carey, who scored in the continuation of the match, when all the BATE players had joined in front positions for a free-kick in front of CSKA’s penalty area.
