They sprayed the cameras with paint
Under the direction of the District Attorney’s Office – Sandanski, an investigation into bank robbery in a pre-trial process initiated for a crime under art. 195, para. 1 of the Penal Code.
It is currently known that on the night of September 17, 2020, around 3:12 a.m., a sum of money was confiscated from a bank office on Svoboda Street in the town of Sandanski. From the actions of the investigation, it was established that the criminal act was committed by going through a window located at the rear of the building. To do this, the metal grid mounted on it and the broken glass were cut. The security cameras were sprayed with paint. There was a locked metal cabinet in the cash register and the key was on. According to initial data, around BGN 4,000, EUR 800 and USD 100 were seized.
The bank’s office was connected to a system for alarm and security activities, and at 03:12 an alarm signal was received to enter it. The place was visited by employees of a company that guarded the site, 1 minute and 15 seconds after the registration of the signal. The perpetrators were not identified on the spot, as they had already left the room.
The investigation continues.
