8 professors from the 55th Sofia University of the capital “Petko Karavelov” have a positive test for the coronavirus, reported “24 Chasa” and BNT. The information was later confirmed by the municipality of Sofia.

The school principal, Tanya Ivancheva, told Nova TV that in early September they had a teacher who was showing symptoms of the infection.

Testing of all staff – pedagogical and non-pedagogical – a total of 130 people. Last night 8 teachers tested positive. None of them showed symptoms of infection. RHI inspectors are already conducting tests with their contact persons.

Contact students will be tested tomorrow. If any of them test positive, their parents will also be tested, explained the RHI.

Due to the new situation, the school holds an online meeting with the parents.

The Regional Department of Education announced that two of the teachers are in preparatory groups, both first grade and high school.

Teachers are quarantined and will be replaced by their peers.
