Each Bulgarian pensioner for the third consecutive month will receive a supplement of BGN 50 to their October pension. We promised this and we are delivering on our commitment, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during today’s cabinet meeting.
A video of the meeting, which is taking place online, was posted on the prime minister’s Facebook page.
This assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic will reach 2,119,256 pensioners in our country, for which the government allocated an additional 105,962,800 BGN from the State Social Security budget today, Borissov said.
Despite the difficulties facing COVID-19, we increased all pensions by 6.7 percent since July 1. During the state of emergency, tens of thousands of retirees benefited from support for a free hot lunch, social care, and many other social services to make life easier and better for older people. Many of these activities will continue until the end of the year. Because providing decent antiques to our mothers and fathers has always been an absolute and indisputable priority of the government. We continue to actively work for new and new measures in support of retirees, says Borissov.
