A Bulgarian was sentenced to 8 weeks in prison for violating the quarantine

A Bulgarian man was sentenced to 8 weeks in prison on the British Isle of Man for going to work after traveling abroad instead of serving a 14-day quarantine. Ivan Dimitrov, 50, was arrested after a signal from an alert citizen, reports 24 Chasa.

The harsh sentence is due to the fact that he delivered food home from a restaurant, which is absolutely prohibited according to the measures of the local authorities. Even after travelers have been allowed to work abroad if they have been in isolation for 7 days and have a negative test for which they have paid £ 50, this is only allowed for activities where they do not communicate directly with other people.

Dimitrov began delivering food even before he was allowed to, three days after returning to the island.

The people of Mann are taking serious action against the coronavirus after the island was completely closed from March 27 to July 20. So far, 339 have been infected and 24 have died out of a population of 83,000.
