Laboratories in France and Sweden have conducted an independent analysis of Germany, which has also confirmed that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been poisoned with the Novichok chemical weapon.

Navalny is currently being treated at a Berlin clinic after fainting and losing consciousness during a flight to Russia. The patient was later airlifted to Germany. Moscow denies having anything to do with the poisoning of Vladimir Putin’s enemy.

German government spokesman Steffen Seibert said samples had also been sent to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, according to Reuters. The Novichok chemical weapon was used on Navalny.
