Paramedic pretends to be a doctor, performs manipulations and finds death – Hospitals

Is it possible for a woman to die twice a month and be issued a death notice twice? It turned out that this is quite possible and is probably a precedent. However, it is not a precedent for a paramedic to pretend to be a doctor for years, establish a death and issue a document about it, as well as perform medical manipulations such as placing green prescription drugs. Medical law experts insist that this is complete nonsense. How and where does this happen? And who is the supposed doctor? A Nova TV team searched for the answers.

The man in the investigation was filmed with a hidden camera to inject diazepam into a fake person. The drug has a green prescription, as he himself admits, and is administered only in special cases. This medical manipulation is performed in an emergency room of the private company Euromed, owned by Georgi Georgiev, known in Plovdiv by the nickname Joro Lazhata. There are many indications that Georgiev provides unregulated medical services.

For many years he has presented himself as a doctor in all parts of Plovdiv and the region. Not just showing up, but doing medical activities. Including the issuance of death notices. That is, take the case from the beginning. Relatives of a deceased person are calling on the phone, actually people are calling Euromed. This is a group practice that has the right to provide emergency care, says Dr. Nikolai Varshilov, owner of a nursing home.

Dr. Hristo Hristov is listed in the Commercial Registry as the administrator and owner of Euromed. However, it is no secret in Plovdiv that, informally, Georgiev is the owner of the ER company, and under his control there are two general practitioners: Dr. Hristo Hristov and Dr. Delyan Zapryanov.

His phone is written on the ambulances, respectively, when people call, he does not bother to take calls. Either for an exam or to issue a kill, and in many cases he performs the exams himself, says Dr. Varshilov.

Like a coincidence. The surrogate goes to the so-called doctor’s office with complaints of mild discomfort. The diagnosis is high blood pressure and the treatment is an injection of diazepam.

Soon after this “professional” manipulation, it became clear that Georgiev was in quarantine after expending COVID-19. The incident took place on August 18, and according to the Interior Ministry, Georgiev was in quarantine from August 10 to 23. He was previously treated at St. Ivan Rilski Hospital. Georgiev has indicated to the police that he will be quarantined at his home, not in the emergency room.

After it became clear that a person in quarantine, who was not a doctor, had placed a green prescription drug on our surrogate, we decided to report him to the 112 Emergency Center. From there they promised to do an inspection. A police patrol stops next to Georgiev’s block, but none of the policemen enter the entrance where he lives. Is it because they received information that he is not at the address or because they do not want an encounter with a quarantined person? It’s not clear.

An alleged doctor in Greece has been arrested and charged with the death of three patients

Who is Georgi Georgiev? Known by the media with various incidents. Surprisingly, he is featured in the media as Dr. Georgiev. He has been practicing emergency care for years, but the people he works with have recently realized that he is not really a doctor, yet this does not prevent him from issuing death notices in addition to medical procedures. He does so with the stamp of one of the two doctors: Zapryanov or Hristov, more often with that of Hristo Hristov.

I learned that he was issuing death notices because I had called him personally. Both he and his girlfriend Dima, who works for him. And she is not a doctor. They have completed a paramedic course and live for doctors with the stamp of Hristo Hristov, the manager of Euromed. Hristo Hristov, in full consciousness, knows this is happening. They broadcast messages in nursing homes, at addresses. Absolutely everywhere they are called. We even wrote a letter to Minister Ananiev and he wrote us to consult with the Ministry of Education, said Ivan Stanchev, owner of a private ambulance company.

An inspection by the journalistic team of the Bulgarian Medical Union shows that there is no such doctor.

In addition to Dr. Varshilov’s home, Georgiev also works with the home for the elderly with dementia in Gorna Mahala, Kaloyanovo municipality. This is confirmed by the mayor of the municipality, Georgi Georgiev and the house staff.

Georgiev’s emergency care, in addition to serving nursing homes in Plovdiv and the region, also carries out other activities. It also offers events such as horse races and soccer games. He has been found dead in hundreds of other cases over the past 15 years.

Georgi Georgiev claims that as a fourth degree paramedic, he has the right to perform medical manipulations and establish death. In addition, there is a general power of Dr. Hristo Hristov to perform these actions.

The conversation with Georgiev is a few minutes after a doctor from his company previously wrote a message about the death of an elderly woman. It happens by order of Georgiev, with only one copy of an identification card. And this is not the only absurdity. The woman died a month ago. And then the death was again confirmed by the urgent help of Georgiev. Probably again with Dr. Hristov’s stamp.
