Prince Charles suspended funding for Prince Harry and Megan after it became clear that the two had reached an agreement with streaming platform Netflix, Lenta reports.
After the family gave up their obligations to the British royal family on April 1 and moved to Canada and then the United States, Prince Charles continued to fund them.
Even then, they could boast a considerable fortune. Megan owned between five and seven million dollars, mainly from the fees of the “Disguise” series. Harry is estimated to have between £ 25 million and £ 40 million in inheritance from her mother and great-grandmother, the Queen Mother Elizabeth II.
Earlier this month, Harry and Megan signed a contract with Netflix to create movies and series. Financial details were not disclosed, but according to the Mirror, they could receive up to a million dollars for each of them.
Meanwhile, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, Prince Philip, views his grandson, Prince Harry, moving to the United States as desertion, Yahoo News reports.
Philip’s attitude to Harry’s actions is discussed in the book Prince Philip Revealed by royal biographer Ingrid Seward. According to the author, Prince Philip never understood what his grandson was unhappy with.
“From their point of view, Harry and Megan had everything one could wish for: a beautiful home, a healthy son and a unique opportunity to influence the entire world through charity,” Seward wrote.
Philip believes that Harry left his homeland to live in America as a narcissistic celebrity.
