The driver of the bus in Belasitsa (Petrich) that crashed on the Trakia highway has died at the wheel. The Southwestern Third League soccer club recounted the incident on its Facebook page:
“Traffic accident with OFK Belasitsa men’s team! On the way back from Panagyurishte city, the bus driving the Belasitsa team crashed. The cause of the accident, which occurred 70 km on the Trakia highway, was the driver illness As a result, the bus went off the road, fortunately maintaining stability without turning.
It was later established that the driver suffered a heart attack.

The municipality of Petrich immediately sent a second bus from the city of Plovdiv to pick up the men’s team. All team members who arrive at Petrich decide that they want a medical consultation and will be examined again at the hospital.
