The Sofia Municipal Court released all those detained in the clashes during the earlier protest.
The trial court had released Mario Nikolov, Christian Angelov, Martin Aksentiev, Nikola Vladimirov and Lyubomir Aksentiev on bail, and Dimitar Todorov had been placed on remand.
In its ruling in the case, the appeals panel of the Sofia City Court is motivated by the fact that there is no reasonable suspicion of a crime, since the testimony of the only eyewitness, who is also an employee of the Ministry of the Interior, cannot be considered credible. The reason for this is that the policeman has declared in another case, examined today by the court, that it excludes his ability to monitor the performance of this group of people.
In addition, there is no evidence in the case that the defendants were investigated for touching pyrotechnic devices. In the case, no video recordings were presented and no injuries were identified.
Alexander Ivanov is released on bail of BGN 500. Yordan Tumbakov will be released on bail in lieu of a BGN 500 bail.
Mario Nikolov, Christian Angelov, Dimitar Todorov (arrested in first instance), Martin Aksentiev, Nikola Vladimirov, Lyubomir Aksentiev were released without any measures.
Evgeniy Ivanov, who had a bond of BGN 600 from the district court, is left with only one subscription.
The court’s decision is final.
