The 64th consecutive anti-government protest continues in central Sofia. Today’s demonstration was declared “Great People’s Uprising 2”. The protesters demand the resignation of the government and the attorney general.
Car traffic in the area of the Council of Ministers and the presidency remains blocked due to protesters. The police presence in the area has increased.
A few minutes ago, several young men with black T-shirts, tattoos, and shaved heads joined the crowd surrounding the Presidency. In the crowd are large men with tattoos looking from the side. According to BNT, provocations are being prepared after 10:00 pm, during which the windows of the Judicial Tool will be broken. The last hour of the protest is announced at 23:30.
Law enforcement officers have fenced off the National Assembly building and the road leading to the entrance on the BNB side is guarded by the gendarmerie. There are checkpoints, the police have already seized and banned items (incendiary substances, pyrotechnics, as well as toys), rifle and sword. The atmosphere is calm.
Earlier today, dangerous objects and incendiary substances were found in the garden area of the National Theater “Ivan Vazov”. Six were arrested but have already been released.
