For months, there have been strong tensions in the eastern Mediterranean, where Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is pursuing an expansionist policy and Greece is at the forefront, the agency said.
Later today, Macron will participate in the seventh summit of EU member states with access to the Mediterranean, which will discuss tensions in the region.
