Under the leadership of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, this morning, officials from the General Directorate for the Fight against Organized Crime launched an operation to combat organized crime in Kyustendil.
In the Roma neighborhood of the city, arrests were made of people from the Ropotamtsi and Golovtsi clans. A specialized operation against domestic crime is underway in the territory of Kyustendil.
Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev also arrived at the scene and gave a briefing.
“Investigations are being carried out on a group of organized crime for usury, drug trafficking and violence,” he said.
Six people have been arrested, of whom there is data that they have been criminally exposed, two or three more are being sought. On Thursday it will be decided who will remain in custody, what measures will be imposed and what charges will be filed, explained the attorney general. He recalled that several months ago, police officers were attacked and beaten in the city.
“People need to know that in addition to rights, they also have obligations. They should be equal for everyone, whether they are rich, poor, Bulgarian, Roma,” Geshev added.
“There is nothing wrong with being a rich person. But these people have to pay their taxes to invest in Bulgarian municipalities and roads. Part of our job is to prevent people in the country from seeing expensive cars that don’t have a single business day. behind them, they have not paid taxes, that is one of the priorities of the Prosecutor’s Office. ”, explained the Attorney General.
