In a brutal accident, a Ukrainian truck driver swept the rail of the Trakia road near Plovdiv, turned in the opposite direction and crushed the car of a pregnant young woman and her boyfriend, who were traveling from Bourgas to Sofia for a medical examination. This happened two years ago.
The late Ivaylo’s sister – Dorothea Mincheva, also wrote an appeal on social media:
“Hello friends, I am writing this post in the hope of changing something in a country where there are no laws, there is only gossip with people. When a person loses their loved ones, part of them dies. You learn to live without them, but unfortunately you never learn to live with injustice, or at least I cannot learn to live with it.
As some of you may know, a case has been going on for 2 years and 3 months against the culprit in the deaths of Ivaylo Minchev and Severina Koralska, who are my family and always will be. During these 2 years and 3 months, the result is insane: reduction of the sentence of the culprit and his acquittal of the most important charge, namely the violation of traffic rules (I will not comment at all on the chemical experience, which proves the presence of drugs in the blood mu).
How come you didn’t break the rules when you went over the railing, crashed a car in the opposite lane, and people died? It is clear that the loss cannot be recovered, but as a mature and sensible person, I personally believe that each of us should be responsible for our actions and for the country we live in, we pay our bills and taxes. It should have been in our favor, not killing the few survivors left after such a tragedy.
The bottom line here is that clearly there is no law to protect the bereaved, or at least, if there is, it is not being applied properly. I am writing to you with a request, who can and wants to help me, all this so that it reaches the media, since all the media were very interested in broadcasting the accident of 05.28.2018, that now they show you what is happening to the killers on the road, because each of us can be the next victim! ”
