Donald Trump: American businessman and politician Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in New York announced a 10-year ban on drilling for oil off the coasts of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, the DPA reported.
The presidential moratorium extends a previous ban on drilling off Florida’s west coast, which would expire in 2022. However, it now includes Florida’s Atlantic coast, as well as two other states: Georgia and South Carolina.
Lawmakers from the Republican and Democratic parties in Florida have called for such a ban out of fear that drilling activities will destroy beaches and negatively affect tourism.
This decision will be welcomed by conservationists. It is one of Trump’s few moves to curb the oil industry.
It was taken at a time when Trump is trying to attract voters for the November presidential election, the DPA noted.
