Valentin Zlatev is no longer part of Lukoil-Bulgaria. The news was confirmed for bTV by the company’s press center.

Since August 10 this year, Valentin Zlatev has not been a member of the Supervisory Board of Lukoil Neftochim Burgas. This shows a reference in the Commercial Register.

We asked the Lukoil-Bulgaria press center for a comment to find out whether Zlatev is still chairman of the company’s Supervisory Board. From there they announced that he no longer holds this position. They specified that Zlatev had left the company.

We also tried to contact Valentin Zlatev. At this stage, he does not answer our phone calls. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving office.

We remind you that on April 19, 2019 there was a rotation of executives in Lukoil-Bulgaria. Zlatev was appointed Chairman of the Control Council. He then vacated the position of CEO and Bulat Subaev took over the position, which he still holds today.

In June of this year, Zlatev was questioned by the Special Prosecutor’s Office. Then he did not specify which questions he answered and in which case.

That same month, in a letter to the media, he rejected accusations that he was part of the “transitional oligarchy” and that he had met with Cornelia Ninova and Vasil Bozhkov.

“With the clear awareness that I am a public figure, I have often overlooked the many abuses of my name with quiet patience over the years. However, I believe that to date all limits of tolerance have been crossed. “I don’t know what I’ll be ‘next’ for, but my next step is to defend my rights in court,” Zlatev wrote at the time.

In 2019, Zlatev was accused by business organizations of pushing for texts on the Fuel Law. He told them that they were attacking him because they did not want regulation.

“The fuel law serves certain interests and aims to maintain only the large gas stations,” then-CEIBG president Kiril Domuschiev said on the “Face to Face” program.
