Today I was fired from the Gabrovo Theater. One of the explanations of my boss Petko Koychev was: I see you have a civilized position. I see that you are trying to become famous in a different way than as an actor. It will not happen. To be famous as an actor, you have to break your ass. And you try another way. You are fired!

This was told by the actor of the Gabrovo Dramatic Theater Daniel Mihailov, who actively participates in the protests against Borisov and Geshev, crying in front of the current of Ivo Bozhkov.

My salary as an actor was 659 leva, Mihailov said.

At the same time, the director of the Dramatic Theater in Gabrovo Petko Koychev came up with a position on the case, which says:

After spreading unverified information from some media, as well as on the social network “Facebook” about the case of the dismissal of actor Daniel Mihailov, I am forced as director of the Dramatic Theater “Racho Stoyanov” in Gabrovo to defend the prestige and authority of my management. institution.

Actor Daniel Mihailov was appointed to work at the Gabrovo Drama Theater after a casting on June 27, 2020. The casting was arranged in connection with the two announced vacancies for male actors and his participation in the project “Under the Yoke – 1894 “. A commission made up of Petrinel Gochev – director of DT “Racho Stoyanov”, and Petko Koychev – director of DT “Racho Stoyanov”, ranked the actors Naiden Banchevski and Pavel Kirchev in first and second place out of a total of seven people who appeared in the casting. After a conversation with Pavel Kirchev on the day of the casting, he withdrew his offer due to the coincidence of another of his personal projects.

In the week before the casting, we received an official email from Prof. Alexander Iliev, in which an introduction was made to all his students, including Daniel Mihailov. Based on this letter and the third-place ranking of actor Daniel Mihailov, the commission selected and offered a job to Mr. Mihailov.

Actors Naiden Banchevski and Daniel Mihailov have been hired on a six-month probationary period in favor of the employer.

On July 1, 2020 rehearsals of our project for a new production “Under the Yoke – 1894” with director Petrinel Gochev began. On August 1, 2020, the entire theater team, including the cast, went on paid annual leave until August 30, 2020. On August 31, 2020, the work process began in the theater with a view to the Next opening of the 75th season of theater on September 2. 2020 Theater rehearsals resumed on August 31, 2020 by order of the director, and September 2 and 3 were held on weekends due to rehearsals scheduled on weekends and holidays. Thus, the tests continue as official working days for all those directly involved in them on September 4, 5, 6 and 7, 2020.

On September 4, 2020 at 09.13, actor Daniel Mihailov had a telephone conversation with the theater director who was unable to appear at the rehearsal for “Under the yoke – 1894” announced for 09.30 due to financial difficulties and inability to travel. to Gabrovo, promising to come the same day for the afternoon rehearsals. The director warns him that he will be punished with a type of “comment”, to which the actor does not object, but expresses his knowledge that he knows.

Daniel Mihailov does not appear at the afternoon rehearsals on September 4. Show up at work on September 6 at 11:00. Director Petko Koychev spoke to him and told him that he was violating labor discipline and that he would be fired on September 8, 2020 under the employment contract, the law and the Labor Code.

As director of the Racho Stoyanov Theater, I am obliged to say responsibly that the release of actor Daniel Mihailov has nothing to do with his civil position, his open statement and his participation in the current protests.

Actor Daniel Mihailov was released due to a violation of labor discipline, a director’s order and the Internal Order Regulations at the Racho Stoyanov Theater in Gabrovo. “
