Switzerland and Germany finished 1-1 in an extremely interesting match from Group 4 of League A of the Nations League. The guests stumbled hard and took the lead through Ilkay Gundogan in the 14th minute, before Silvan Widmer made the final 1: 1 in the 58th minute. The match was very good for the neutral spectators, after which both teams will show a series of valuable moments with the ball.

The game started at a good pace by the guests and the goal was obviously not late. In the 14th minute, after a multi-pass attack and finally a high ball in the middle of the “crusaders” Matthias Ginter met with a pass Ilkay Gundogan, who from the edge of the area made a perfect shot on the close kick.

Three minutes later, after a corner kick, Antonio Rüdiger was left alone at the penalty spot, but from a clear position he missed Jan Sommer’s goal. In the 20th minute, Lawrence Benito tried his shot from distance, but did not threaten Bernd Leno’s goal.

In the 26th minute the promotion was felt in the Swiss team. After a good attack from the left, Renato Steffen came out alone before Bernd Leno, but the Arsenal guard did well and saved.

In the 36th minute Timo Werner also had his chance. After a deep pass to Robin Gossens on the right wing, the Atalanta player returned an excellent pass to the goalkeeper in the penalty area. He controlled, but his shot went over Jan Sommer’s door.

In the 42nd minute, Vladimir Petkovic’s boys were inches from the tie. After another good multi-pass attack, Renato Steffen found a pass to Haris Seferovic, who only against Bernd Leno aimed at the left side post of the German team’s goal.

At the start of the second half, the Germans made a better start again and created a serious situation in the 53rd minute. After a quick attack down the middle, Leroy Sane found Julian Draxler on the edge of the area, whose precise shot was blocked by Nico Elvedi in a corner.

In the 58th minute, however, the local team’s effort was rewarded. After a great pass to Breel Embolo from the left wing, the forward stepped inside and put a perfect pass to Silvan Widmer, who shot Bernd Leno 1: 1 from a difficult position.

After the draw, the German momentum waned and both teams hardly created anything interesting in the next 15 minutes. In the 85th minute Granit Jaka put his teammate Leno’s reflexes to the test, but the German guard scored safely from a corner kick. Just a minute later, reserve Rubén Vargas with a heel would almost send the ball to the guests’ doors for a complete spin.

At the end of the match there were no more goals and the two teams shared the points. Thus, Switzerland won their first point in the tournament, while the Germans are already two after two consecutive draws.
