The legendary “Monza” once again took the breath away of Formula 1 fans. In an extremely dramatic race with the elimination of the two Ferraris, the punishment of Hamilton and the stoppage of the race, Pierre Gasley of Alpha Tauri achieved his first victory in his career. On the podium he was followed by future Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz of McLaren and Lance Stroll with Racing Point.
This is the first race that a driver other than Ferrari, Mercedes or Red Bull has won after 146 consecutive successes by the dominators in motorsport.
World champion Lewis Hamilton had to endure a 10-second penalty from sheriffs for illegally entering a tire changer. This dragged him to last place, but he eventually beat the traffic and finished seventh.

Today from the first position began the world champion Lewis Hamilton, who won the classification yesterday. He was followed by his teammate Valteri Botas from Mercedes, Carlos Sainz from McLaren, Sergio Pérez from Racing Point and Max Verstappen from Red Bull. Representatives for Ferrari hosts Charles Löckler and Sebastian Vettel started from unenviable positions 13 and 17, respectively.
Sainz made a great start and overtook Boots at the start, finishing second after the first few meters. Max Verstappen, meanwhile, collapsed in seventh place.
A minute later, Walter, who dropped to sixth place, told his team over the radio that he suspected a flat tire.
On lap six, Vettel warned that a brake had broken, prompting him to put his car straight into the pits, ending the race early.
On the tenth lap of Monza, the classification is as follows: 1. Hamilton, 2. Sainz, 3. Norris, 4. Pérez, 5. Ricciardo, 6. Boots, 7. Verstappen, 8. Stroll, 9. Okon, 10 Gasley. Kimi Raikkonen is 12th and Löckler 13th.
For several laps Max has been stuck near Boots and on lap 15 the distance between the two is about half a second.
Everyone in the top 10 plus Leclerc and Alban have soft tires. The rest are medium, except for Quiat and Magnussen, who chose the hard.
On lap 17, Boots complained to his team that he couldn’t work with his current feelings.
Leckler pitted for new tires (2.7 seconds per turn) and came out 17th.
On lap 20, Kevin Magnussen broke down and went off the track: yellow flags in sector 3! Seconds later, the bailiffs ordered a safe car to come out. Hamilton took advantage of this and entered on new tires (3.1 seconds per change).
However, the organizers said that the entry of Hamilton and Giovinazzi to the box was illegal, as it was not allowed at the time. A decision will be made shortly on what will follow. It was not too late and it was announced that Antonio and Lewis would receive a penalty of 10 seconds each.
Racing resumed on lap 24. On the Parabolica, however, Löckler flew at over 200 kilometers per hour, losing control and traction, and crashed into a nightmarish firewall on the left. The good news is that he immediately announced that he was fine and came off his chassis alone – a red flag, stopping the race and putting everyone back in the pits!
The Italian Grand Prix will probably not be renewed soon, because Hamilton went to the bailiffs’ offices.
20-25 minutes later, the drivers returned to the track with a safe car. After a warm-up lap, the cars lined up one behind the other on the starting grid and resumed the race.
Lap later (29) Hamilton pitted to serve his sentence. He had to go home, stop his chassis, wait 10 seconds, and then get back on track, getting back on track.
On lap 31, Max Verstappen finally returned to boxing, leaving the race.
After these events, the provisional ranking is as follows: 1. Gasley, 2. Raikkonen, 3. Sainz, 4. Stroll, 5. Norris, 6. Boots, 7. Ricciardo, 8. Okon, 9. Kwiat, 10. Perez and Hamilton is penultimate in 15th place.
In the 34th round, future Ferrari driver Sain made excellent use of Kimi’s worn tires and outlasted the last man to win the “black horses” world title. Lance Stroll also came out at the helm of the Raikkonen tour later on. During the next 3 laps on the track, the Finn dropped to 7th place.
Until lap 42, Hamilton is still in traffic and his progress is slow – 12th ahead of Grosjean, George Russell, Alban and Giovinazzi.
In 47, the six-time world champion entered the points zone, ahead of Raikkonen, and two after Pérez, ninth place.
