Police said in a statement that they received a signal about half an hour after midnight for a man wounded with a knife in the city center. More similar attacks were then reported.
“We responded immediately, along with colleagues from the ambulance,” police said on Twitter, DPA and BTA reported.
“We know how many were injured, but at the moment we cannot say how many or how badly they were injured,” police added.
“We are still working to find out what happened … At this time, it is not correct to speculate on the reasons for what happened,” the tweet read.
Various areas of the city have been isolated and streets are closed, Reuters reported.
