Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valteri Botas will be in the front row for the start of the Italian Grand Prix. The Englishman outscored his teammate by 0.069 seconds. Renault discovered that the problem with Daniel Ricciardo’s car, which caused him to stop on the track during training, was with the fuel pump. The team managed and the car was ready on time.
The weather was even warmer at the beginning of qualifying: 28 degrees in the air and 46 on the track. Alfa Romeo drivers Williams and Haas appeared on the track at the start of Q1.
Charles Löckler radioed and told his team to tell Sebastian Vettel not to drive too slow in front of him. He added that he did not understand why he was released behind his teammate.

The first time was Kevin Magnussen – 1: 21.618 min. It got better quickly, as Lecler was ahead of Vettel
However, his time was canceled for going beyond the limits of the tour. They all had soft tires except the Mercedes ones. Lewis Hamilton started first with 1: 19.539 minutes, Valteri Botas was 0.247 seconds behind him.

At the bottom of the table were Grosjean, Vettel, Antonio Giovinazzi, George Russell, and Nicholas Latifi.
At the end of Q1, there was a build-up that many feared. Kimi Raikkonen had to stop abruptly several times to avoid colliding with Esteban Okon.
“This idiot is blocking me all the time!”, Kimi was outraged.
The Alfa Romeo driver literally gave up two laps before the end of the lap. Vettel stayed below the line and Hamilton improved his own record to 1: 19.514. Sebastian was particularly unhappy with the behavior of Alfa Romeo cars.

In Q2, everyone got back on track, everyone was smooth
Boots clocked 1: 19.417, Hamilton was 0.325 seconds faster, which was a new record. After the first series, Perez came out third against Sainz, Verstappen, Gasley. Kwiat, Okon, Löckler, Magnussen and Raikkonen were in the relegation zone.
Flight control said it would investigate the Q1 incident between Okon, Latifi and Raikkonen after qualifying.
Everyone waited a long time before returning to Monza, which happened again at the same time. Boots took the lead with 1: 18.952. Löckler couldn’t improve his time and retired after Q2 along with Kwiat, Okon, Raikkonen and Magnussen.

Mercedes led the column in Q3, with Boots ahead of Hamilton. Behind them were the Red Bull drivers. Valteri hit 1: 19.121, his teammate was faster by 0.053 seconds. Pérez was third (+0.652 sec). Followed by Verstappen (+0.739), Sainz (+0.838), Norris, Ricciardo, Gasley, Stroll. Albon’s schedule was canceled for breach of route restrictions.
“I’m wasting a lot of time on the right!” Said Verstappen over the radio.
Five and a half minutes before the end of Q3, everyone came back out of the pits. In recent attempts, Boots was the first to register a time. It was 1: 18.956, which Lewis improved by 0.069 seconds. Sainz was third.
