The 58th anti-government protest last night was packed and very loud, but passed calmly and without clashes with the police, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

The protesters blocked traffic on Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. Shortly before 10 pm, the protesters began setting up a new tent camp: three tents and four tents on Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd.

There is information about a new big protest like the one on September 2. This came less than 48 hours after the police removed the tented camps in Orlov Most, opposite the Rectorate of the University of Sofia and in the triangle of power. Several protesters said they would spend the night in the new tent camp.

“Of course we will stay here. We will spend the winter here, if necessary,” some of the protesters told BNR. “Until (Borisov’s) resignation, we will build what we need and block what we need,” they said. Traffic on Dondukov Blvd. remains normal despite the construction of the new tent camp.

The protesters announced that the date of the “Second Great Popular Uprising” was scheduled for September 10 in the Plaza de la Independencia.

Today at 9 a.m., the protesters will gather in front of the Sofia Municipal Court building, where the cases of the detainees will be heard on September 2.

Earlier, the CEO of “Hipoland”, Marian Kolev, announced from the makeshift platform of the “triangle of power” that he did not expect such great support from people and companies. She called on the police to protect the protesters from the most aggressive and said that the toys handed over to the police were not a sign of mockery, but a sign of gratitude for protecting people. Last night the traditional procession to the Puente del Águila did not take place, but a group of young people on bicycles temporarily blocked the crossing.

Another day is called for the resignation of the government of Boyko Borissov, Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev and the holding of fair elections by automatic vote.

According to the protesters, the elections will return to the political, social, economic and social environment of the country.

The protesters also strongly condemned the events in front of the National Assembly on September 2. The protest is peaceful and events that could increase tensions are unacceptable, they said. There are peaceful and democratic means to achieve the objectives of the protest, the protesters believe. The protesters oppose people’s choice to choose between a paper ballot or a machine, as this will create confusion and chaos throughout the voting process.

To avoid a situation similar to the one on the night of September 2, the protest organizers are considering several options, incl. to introduce the protest commanders themselves, BNR added.
