The organizers of the daily protests against the government in Sofia in the person of the “Poison Trio” – Prof. Velislav Minekov, lawyer. Nikolay Hadjigenov and Arman Babikyan made a statement to the deputies. The protesters called on “all parties claiming to be in the opposition and all parliamentarians who remember their oath to join the Assembly, based on their morals and honor, to leave the plenary sessions and work in Parliament’s committees” after the “Bloody Wednesday”. “.
This is your call:
Ladies and Gentlemen of Parliament,
Nearly two months of protests have passed at home and abroad against Borisov’s sole authority.
Virtually all sociological surveys show that the Bulgarian government behaves against the will of the Bulgarian citizens. This happens by all legal and illegal means. The Prime Minister’s tricks are transparent to everyone, and we hope for you too, due to the nature of your activities and responsibilities.
In view of this, it is clear that legitimizing the mandate in this Parliament is not a requirement of the sovereign. On the contrary, it gives rise to demands for representation and prolongs the agony of a regime that harms citizens, the rule of law, democracy and freedom in the country.
We make a public call to all the parties that claim to be in the opposition and to all the deputies who remember their oath to enter the Assembly, based on their morals and honor, to leave the plenary sessions and their work in the commissions of the Parliament! This is the only clear sign of separation from this autocratic government and the removal of the facade behind which the mafia and Borissov’s dictates hides. The National Assembly is no longer the body in which the opposition is a corrector, but a “notary” of long-standing and negotiated individual decisions. This act will leave the names of shame alone and unique, as wards of a single man, and not as expressions of the will of the people.
After “Bloody Wednesday”, everyone has the opportunity to decide whether to go down in history as supporters of democracy or as servants of the regime. Bulgaria will remember each of you! You decide with what!
