Without a session in the National Assembly today, there is no quorum

Today there will be no plenary session, after the parliament failed to gather a quorum to start the session. Yesterday, the BSP parliamentary group did not register for the session. He did this today, and when he tried again, it crashed the electronic reporting system.

“Cancel registration, reboot the system. You don’t have to count them one by one, because you have to quickly leave the room. Wait a minute. Colleagues, let’s try again. No quorum. We will not meet colleagues today. Next session ordinary plenary session the other Wednesday at nine o’clock, “said the president of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva, quoted by BNR.

According to a program today, the parliament had to ratify the Voluntary Agreement with the European Commission on SURE, the European instrument of temporary support after the crisis with COVID-19. The total budget is 100 billion euros. The financial assistance will be granted in the form of a loan until the end of 2022. The EC will raise funds from the financial markets to make them available to Member States. With the voluntary guarantee agreement in the Republic of Bulgaria, you undertake to provide, upon request, irrevocable and unconditional guarantees for a maximum amount of more than 210,000 BGN.

Amendments to the Personal Documents Act will also be discussed at first reading.


Three ministers were to participate in the parliamentary scrutiny. Health Minister Kostadin Angelov would respond to BSP’s questions about the problems of people with specific diseases and the measures that the Health Ministry will take to solve them. The Minister of Environment and Water, Emil Dimitrov, would answer a question about the implementation of temporary and quality control of water in the Maritsa river. Economy Minister Lachezar Borisov would also participate in parliamentary control.
