More than 80 police officers were injured after yesterday’s protests in Sofia. The 56th night of protests against the government was marked by serious clashes between protesters and soldiers. Some people started throwing bombs, bottles, metal pipes and cobblestones at the building of the old Party House, where there was a thick cordon of gendarmes. The uniformed men fought back. The protesters divided into two separate groups. They also removed the tent camp. A water cannon was also brought to the Plaza de la Independencia, but it was not used.

“The police were extremely tolerant. We wondered what was happening. We were bombarded for about an hour, and we waited for a response from our superiors to take some action. It was 1 hour, about 60-70 bombs. The attack was brutal,” he said Manev.
“At first the protesters were well intentioned, they gave me a flag. After 20:00 a group of young people appeared and began to throw eggs. Then the real attack with handmade bombs began. For an hour and a half we suffered insults and this bombardment, “Andon Hristov said.
