This year alone, more than 127,000 minutes were issued from August 1 to 24, 12,000 more than in the same period last year. As almost half of the minutes issued in August 2020 are for speeding.

In July of this year, the violators were even more. The acts issued are about 175,000, which is about 23,500 more than in July of last year.

And despite the thousands of rapes, the good news is that there are fewer casualties and deaths in accidents. For example, in August we had 595 accidents. There were 48 dead and 753 injured. Last August, 58 people lost their lives and 885 were injured in traffic accidents.

Traditionally, the traffic during the summer months increases and with it the infractions. In July of this year, an average of 5,600 rapes were detected per day.

The most common violations, the tendency is to ignore the advantage, the distance and the inappropriate speed. These are the main reasons for the accident ”, explained Ivo Pisanov of the Traffic Police.

While the number of rapes is increasing, the number of accident victims and deaths is decreasing. Thus, from August 1 to 27 in our country there were 595 traffic accidents. They killed 48 people and injured 753. For comparison, last year, in August, 58 people lost their lives in accidents, another 885 were injured.

Meanwhile, statistics show that the most common offense is speeding. That is why people who come to pay their fines can meet every day at the Sofia Traffic Police.

This week the traffic police started a new action on the road. Various violations will be monitored in each area and inspections will continue until September 2.
