“As we all know, the state of emergency in the country expired today. The amendment to the health law was published the same day. With it, the National Assembly gives us the opportunity to impose anti-epidemic measures, even though we are not in state of emergency”. This was stated by the Minister of Health, Kiril Ananiev, in a briefing on The declaration of the epidemic emergency situation in the country from tomorrow until June 14.

“There is no drastic change in the development of the disease. We believe that the measures implemented so far must continue. The COVID-19 pandemic is a really difficult situation for the protection of health,” he added.

Ananiev’s orders to provide anti-epidemic standards in an emergency epidemic provide two new relief. Starting May 14, the city’s parks, gardens and playgrounds will be open to the public. However, crowds will not be allowed, the health minister explained.

Transplants are also allowed.

All other measures are subject to relief or tightening depending on the development of the epidemic, explained Kiril Ananiev.

The Minister of Health also advised companies to continue working remotely, if possible. He gave the example of the Ministry of Health, where people over 60 do not go to work, and the rest are divided into teams and take turns in offices.

The soccer championship will resume on June 5 without spectators, Ananiev added. Together with the Minister of Education, Krassimir Valchev, he prepared an algorithm on how to work in kindergartens and nurseries. There would also be a consultation with parents on whether to open kindergartens. According to Ananiev, groups in kindergartens and nurseries should not be larger than 10-12 children.

There is also a shopping schedule reserved for the elderly from 8:30 to 10:30.

The requirement of a 14-day quarantine upon entering Bulgaria remains and the Minister of Health strongly opposed dropping it even for tourists, Ananiev explained. However, negotiations will be held with Greece, Serbia and Romania on common rules on how to move tourists in the summer.
