A Burgas doctor overcame the coronavirus and returned to work with his patients. This is Dr. Petko Dimov, who is the head of the Department of Surgery at Burgas “Burgasmed” Hospital, reports Nova TV.

The infected doctor said he had a fever for two days and therefore decided to stay home. “So light that I didn’t even feel it. However, I decided to isolate myself. I stayed home for a week. The temperature passed, but other symptoms appeared: loss of smell, taste, slight cough. The most unpleasant thing for him was the pain in eye muscles.

He added that on the sixth day after the first signs of the disease, a test was done to detect the flu virus, which turned out to be negative for both prevalent flu strains. “Then I suspected it could be COVID-19. I called my GP as usual. They tested me and it turned out that my PCR test was positive. I was expecting it,” said the doctor.

Dr. Dimov was admitted to the Infectious Diseases Department the day after receiving a positive coronavirus test. “I spent 12 days there, and my treatment was just antibiotics, no infusions or other therapy. I had a regular blood count and a chest x-ray twice. I felt good,” he said.

However, it was not difficult for him to change his role and become a healer to a healer. “They are all potential patients. I personally collaborated with the colleague who heads the department, and never imposed my own opinion,” Dr. Dimov was categorical.

Once fully healed, the doctor returns to his patients. He has been working for the second week. “My colleagues received me very well. Although they were quarantined for ten days. There were no problems, they were eager to do our work. There were no angry people,” concluded Dr. Petko Dimov.
