The laboratory confirmed that there are 65 new cases of coronavirus in our country in the last 24 hours. Nine positive samples have been tested in children up to 17 years of age. The total number of infected in our country reached 2069, said associate professor Dimo Dimov.

The newly infected are found in the districts of Sofia – 24, Blagoevgrad – 8, Yambol and Vidin – 6 each, Pleven and Sliven – 4, Plovdiv – 2, Pazardzhik, Pernik and Razgrad – 3 each, Kyustendil and Ruse – 1 each.
To date, 365 people are hospitalized, 51 of them in intensive care units.
Associate Professor Dimov explained that at this time the focal nature of the spread of COVID-19 in the country is preserved with clearly spread epidemiological links. “This allows for the timely detection of contact persons and their isolation in the hospital or at home,” he added.
There are seven new cases of infection among medical personnel. “Three doctors, three nurses and one nurse gave positive samples. Three of the cases were found in Pazardzhik, in Pleven – 2, in Plovdiv and Sliven – one each”, specified the Secretary of the National Headquarters of Operations.

Dimov pointed out that the relaxation of measures in socio-economic life should not be accompanied by negligence or non-compliance with hygiene rules in hospitals. “The reduction of human potential in medical institutions has a negative impact on their activities, especially in intensive care units,” he said.
499 people have already been cured, 23 of whom have been negative in the last 24 hours. “In ‘Pirogov’ there are 8, in the Military Medical Academy – 1, and the RHI in the capital has found 11 newly cured outpatients. There are two of them in Sliven and 1 in Kyustendil,” said Dimov.
Another coronavirus patient has died. Therefore, the total number of deaths in our country is 96. The average age of the deceased is 66.8 years.
