With a false start, the scheme to receive subsidies due to the effects of the coronavirus began, expected by tens of thousands of micro and small companies. The only procedure so far in Bulgaria to provide a grant of 3,000 to 10,000 BGN was supposed to be opened today, for which there were several announcements last month, but this did not happen, Capital reports.

At 16:30, the managing authority of the Operational Program “Innovation and Competitiveness”, whose budget provides BGN 173 million for grants, issued an official statement on the situation. It establishes that due to the high public interest, before approving the package of application documents and the official announcement of the procedure, interested parties may know in advance the requirements of the procedure. However, no specific day has been announced for the opening of the scheme, it is only said that this will happen as soon as possible.

The delay in launching the procedure and today’s ambiguities have caused great tension among the companies, as they have all been standing in front of the UMIS website since early morning and waiting to present documents. The reason is that the classification will be made in the order of receipt of the documents until the financial resources of the procedure are exhausted.
