First graders who are about to enter classrooms for the first time will not pass the exams this year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, kindergartens have been closed and inspections are not possible.

About 60,000 first grade students are expected to enter schools in the next school year. Due to the emergency, principals made it easy for parents to do the reception completely online. And the necessary information on the address and marital status is received ex officio in the schools. But the question remains: after a long stay at home, how prepared will children be for the abrupt transition from kindergarten to school environment.

The schools themselves will also not be able to take their exams, thanks to which so far they have divided the children into classes according to their needs.

“We did it to create even classes. And now they will be random,” Asen Alexandrov, director of 51 Sofia University “Elisaveta Bagryan”, told Nova TV.

However, the principals assured that the teachers were sufficiently prepared.

“They will be transitioning from games in kindergarten and home to school and generally by the New Year they will be students,” thinks Asen Alexandrov.

This class is supposed to be slightly different from the previous ones.

“Since the children were not in kindergarten for a long time, they may have lost some social communication habits. My advice to parents is to try to create a positive attitude in children that they will be students,” said the teacher. Rositsa Miteva.

The first grade admission campaign will last until May 21 inclusive. And on the child’s vacation, on June 1, the admitted students of the first ranking will be announced.
