As of Monday, Greece is entering a second phase to ease the measures imposed by COVID-19. The ban on travel to the Greek islands gradually fell in three stages, shops were opened and most of the retail industry was re-established. 25% of closed companies are opening.

The green light for inter-island travel is awarded to seasonal business employees or substitute teachers, whether by boat or plane. Private sector employees must have a travel certificate from an employer. With respect to movement outside the districts, only the supply of food and medicine is allowed, as evidenced by the relevant documents.

The travel ban to mainland Greece has been in effect since May 19. If all goes well, access to the islands will be free for everyone from June 1, but it is possible to allow it earlier, with a possible date of May 25.

This summer, Greece will only be able to enter with health protocols prepared by the government and the Infectious Diseases Commission. Anyone who wants to travel to our southern neighbor must have a health certificate issued up to 72 hours in advance. You must declare that he is not a carrier of the infection.

There are now more than 4 million people infected with coronavirus in the world.

About the flights:

The capacity of the flights to, from and in Greece will be complete, with no free seats, so air transport will be economically feasible for tourists.

For flights of up to four hours, food will not be served to passengers, only packaged snacks.

Tourists will leave the country without any control to avoid the risk of quarantine in Greece, which would be a brake on choosing the country as a vacation destination.

A new outbreak of coronavirus in our country, the infected are already 1955

For accommodation:

The Ministry of Tourism will rent a hotel in each tourist area of the country, which will function as a “quarantine hotel”. Tourists who were carriers of COVID-19 during their stay in Greece will be transported there.

Each hotel must sign a contract with a doctor who will determine on-site or online whether the tourist should undergo a coronary test. The test results will be clear no later than 06.00, so anyone who tests positive will be transferred to a “quarantine hotel”.

There will be no buffets in the hotels, only room service from an online catalog, which will be sent to tourists by mobile phone.

The sun loungers on the beach will have a disposable cover for each beach lover, with a mandatory distance of 2 meters between the umbrellas.

Special training will be provided for each hotel staff on special hygiene rules.

Wearing masks and gloves indoors and while traveling is still a must.

Bathing in the sea is allowed as of May 4, but organized beaches are still closed. At the moment, Greece remains closed to foreign tourists, but in a feverish preparation to receive them soon.
