Today is Europe Day, when we can only be proud to be part of the most democratic union on the planet. Bulgaria is not only a consumer of EU privileges and funds, we protect the external border of the European Union, we participate in decision-making for the common security and prosperity of our continent. This was written by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on his Facebook account.

Today we give Europe our motto “Unity is strength”, because we need to come out of the crisis together and stronger.

Celebrating the anniversary of the Victory over Nazism, we remember with gratitude the millions of soldiers and members of the resistance movement in Europe who gave their lives to save humanity from the horrors of death camps and gas chambers. Let us remember the victims of this war and the lessons of history. In the dark years of World War II, London, Moscow, and Washington and their allies together defeated the Nazi army. This is an example of solidarity, which our world needs even today, Borissov added.
