A moving story about the death of the man who died of COVID-19 in Vidin

The 88-year-old man died of a coronavirus at Vidin Hospital.

“Today is a sad day for us! After 22 days of hard fighting, our 88-year-old father, who was infected with the coronavirus in the Vidin hospital, finally gave two consecutive negative PCR tests yesterday and passed the infection.

But unfortunately this morning his heart failed and he flew to heaven. The Lord saved him from suffering and took him with him. Peace to your soul!

We thank the doctors and medical staff on the teams of Dr. Wilhelm Eliseev and Dr. Lachezar Blazhev in the MHAT “St. Petka” – Vidin intensive care unit, who made incredible efforts to save our father’s life.

We also thank all the family and friends who were with us, in the torments and nightmares that our family experienced during the last month and a half.

The funeral will take place on 10.05.2020 (Sunday) from 14:00 in the old Vidin cemetery. “

Meanwhile, it became clear that the military had begun disinfecting the Vidin Regional Hospital. The hospital is the largest coronavirus outbreak in the area.

There are now 43 infected doctors. This is 12% of hospital staff. Most of the virus carriers are in the neurology department: 50%.

According to the Vidin regional governor, the infection probably started at the Kula Orphanage Hospital, Oreshets Station, as well as the Center for Children with Mental Disabilities.
