There is nothing scary at the moment. The peak in Sofia happened two or three weeks ago. This was announced on the BTV morning block by Professor Todor Kantardzhiev.

He explained that the peak is the week in which there are most cases, if they stay longer, we are talking about a plateau, and if they start to increase, it is a peak.

According to him, things are under control in Sofia and we have passed the peak phase, and now there are separate explosions. The measures must be timely, not draconian, said the doctor, who praised people for learning to be disciplined and for doctors to learn to wear protective clothing.

“The virus is insidious and all measures must be taken, especially in wards. You treat each patient as potentially infected and can infect you and the staff,” said Dr. Kantardzhiev.

He warned that the coronavirus developed two infections: in the throat and lungs. Regarding blood plasma treatment, Kantardzhiev noted that it is very good, that it was used in general for the treatment of influenza infections and in the past.

“It works, but the bad thing is that we still don’t know what helps,” said the doctor, adding that if the infection persists, blood should be collected, antibodies produced and transfused.

In conclusion, Dr. Kantardzhiev called on people who say there was no coronavirus to think about what is happening at Yambol Hospital and in nursing homes. He is calm about the development of the situation in our country, because he speaks daily with the experts from the national operational headquarters. Action is needed because we need to eradicate the coronavirus this summer, he insisted.
