The number of new people infected with coronavirus in Switzerland increased by 326 in the last 24 hours, less than the previous one (346), confirming the persistent downward trend in the country’s incidence.

This was announced today by federal health authorities, TASS reported. So far, 27,404 inhabitants of Switzerland have had positive results for the coronavirus; 1111 died. Most people in the country respect social distance and hygiene.

This allowed the government to decide on a gradual mitigation of the restrictions introduced, President Simonetta Somaruga told the Tang newspaper in Switzerland today. The hairdressing and physiotherapy salons, medical offices, nurseries, horticultural farms and shops will be the first to begin their activity. Schools, other stores, and markets will open May 11. The last one, on June 8, will reopen higher education institutions, museums, libraries and zoos, the government said these days.

In Portugal, 663 new patients with COVID-19 were registered on the last day, causing 19 685 infected in the country, Publiku reported today. The deaths, which increased by one day to 30, are now 687. The number of recovered patients is 610. The state of emergency in Portugal will remain in force until at least May 2, TASS said.

Confirmed cases of infection with the new virus in Denmark have increased day by day by 169, and the country’s population is already 7,242.
