About 80% of Bulgarians will have the coronavirus without symptoms, so the main tip of the Bulgarian app COVID-19 is “Stay Home”. This was explained in person by the head of the Pirogov cardiology department, Professor Maria Milanova, who was also a co-author of the request.
“Another part of the patients will be referred to a GP or emergency. There may be an intermediate part such as a phone consultation. The goal is to avoid crowding in the cabinets and potentially contaminate them,” added the doctor.
According to her, the application contains information about the health, symptoms and associated diseases of the patients who use it. He explained that the application was adapted from those used in Europe.
Professor Milanova explained that on March 10, when the first patients with positive coronavirus samples were identified, an analysis was started on how to minimize pressure on the health system and help those who need treatment.
The doctor explained that people should be alert to symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath and fever. Gastrointestinal problems, conjunctivitis, general fatigue, loss of smell and taste, which are increasingly concomitant symptoms of coronavirus, are not excluded.

She said the medical world still cannot explain why youth without accompanying diseases become victims of the virus. “Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular disease when treated with chloroquine or azithromycin because of the high risk of malignant arrhythmias,” said the doctor.
The head of the Pirogov cardiology department said a study was being conducted on the use of lung ultrasound in treating patients with coronavirus.
He pointed out that the low morbidity in our country was due to restrictive measures and asked people in the next two weeks to strictly follow the recommendations of the national operational headquarters.
