Until now, MoI structures have endured. We will request the participation of the army in the event that there are many police officers infected with coronavirus and we do not have sufficient resources. There is currently no need for the military to intervene. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior of bTV, Ivaylo Ivanov.
He stressed that the last weekend, the Lazarovden and Tsvetnitsa holidays were two radically different days.
“On Saturday, we all lost our calls. Despite the many police and warnings, people, perhaps deceived by the pleasant weather, took to the streets and did not comply,” he emphasized.
According to him, the situation was different on Sunday and people stayed at home.
Art. Commissioner Ivanov pointed out that since the state of emergency, 2700 acts have been issued for violations of citizens. He commented that sanctions by the Interior Ministry should be the final step. It is more important that people stay home.
Ivaylo Ivanov also commented on whether there were problems during Lazarovden and Tsvetnitsa. According to him, the two days were radically different. According to him, people did not follow the measures in any way, unlike yesterday. “I felt like they were doing us wrong on Saturday,” he said.
“We rely on people’s self-awareness,” he explained.
“The ministry staff will not be more informal in their duties and will continue the reason for the trip, despite the holidays, to be justified. And now we are returning to the people,” he said.
Ivanov explained that currently levels of domestic crime have decreased and that there are significantly fewer cases compared to last year. However, law enforcement agencies are vigilant and continue to do their jobs.
In his words, the fall of the state of emergency would hardly increase levels of domestic crime.
He commented that there were 29 proven cases of COVID-19 in the MoI structures. A Bansko administration test gave a positive result, with the PCR test on standby.
An employee was cured.
