When Maxim Zayakov broke the media silence earlier this year after the launch of the first Bulgarian private communication satellite BulgariaSat-1, one of the questions at the media meeting was whether it was difficult for the company to start its own television operator by satellite.
The answer was that the company does not stop looking closely at the Bulgarian market, and once something like this has been done, it is not impossible to do it again. Then we received assurance that the satellite business is more important to BulgariaSat, because it has a much larger reach compared to the small domestic market.
This was clearly not the whole truth, because today the company announced the launch of its own satellite television operator, which will operate under the name of Neosat. As you can guess, the service will be distributed through BulgariaSat-1, and the start is with a free trial. It will be available for a two-month period for first 2020 applicants who register on the company’s website.
The company states that this test does not bind the user in any way and begins from the date of installation of the service. Applications for a free trial will be accepted until May 31 (inclusive), and in addition to www.neosat.com users can also register by calling 070016360. The commercial start is June 1.
The proposal includes access to more than 210 channels, 120 of which are in high resolution. The company will try to win over consumers with something else: flexibility in managing the services used and the duration of the contract. For example, each subscriber can terminate their contract at any time without penalties and add and remove channels and packages in near real time to adapt the service to their preferences.
“For years there has been no significant development in the field of satellite television in our country, which corresponds to the development of the quality of the televisions themselves and the size of the screens, with the necessary stability and quality consistency” said Maxim Zayakov, CEO of neosat.
According to him, this is the only fully Bulgarian satellite television company that uses Bulgarian equipment, resources and knowledge. “Our mission is to permanently deliver and establish on the market a television service with quality and flexible conditions that the Bulgarian consumer deserves,” added Zayakov.
