In Italy, deaths in the last 24 hours have been 174, at least since the first day of the country’s coronavirus isolation measures, which will be eased tomorrow, according to the French press. Yesterday, the death toll was 474, according to Reuters and BTA.
The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the country is almost 29,000.
The data shows that the infection has been under control for several weeks and that there is less pressure on the health system.
For this reason, the authorities decided to mitigate the population’s isolation measures to boost the economy paralyzed by the pandemic.
However, the opening is still very cautious: there are no small shops, no bars and restaurants, remote home work, no family gatherings, except brief visits to loved ones in the same area. Social distance remains in place, even on transportation, without meetings and picnics in the parks. It will also be possible to walk, bike or play sports outside the home.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, however, expects 4.4 million workers to return to work.
