How exactly did you choose the Botev team?
The moment they called me, I knew I wanted to be on this team. Therefore, all the other proposals were left in the background.
What is the feeling of playing in front of Botev’s audience?
The feeling is incredible. It is a great pleasure for me, so I even feel privileged to play in front of such an audience. Across Bulgaria everyone knows that Botev’s audience is one of the largest.
What are your favorite memories of Burgas?
I have some good times in Burgas. I was born in this city. I did my first steps there in soccer. Maybe the Bulgaria Cup finals, which I played … I made many friends, the matches with Neftekhimik and Chernomorets: these are my favorite memories of Burgas.
How do you spend your time during quarantine?
I, like most people, follow the recommendations of the staff. I try to keep something in shape at home, watch movies, read books. In general, these are the things that I am doing now.
Who do you think is the best goalkeeper in the world (except Yanko Georgiev)?
Thanks for the compliment (laughs). My favorite recently abandoned soccer: Iker Casiás. I really like Jan Cloud now.
How do you feel in Botev and do you like Plovdiv?
They soon asked me a similar question. I can say that I feel good in Botev, to say the least. About the city – Plovdiv is an extremely beautiful city and I really like it.
What do you think of the gatekeepers of the Botev nursery and youth school?
They are quite well prepared, there are many talented children. We even work with some of them. They train them in the first team and they leave a very good impression on me.
What do you want to achieve with Botev?
At first I want to make strong matches with the Botev (Pd) team. And, of course, to win a purchase and pursue a higher ranking in the championship. And to please our audience because they deserve it.
What do you think about Burgas and the things with football that happen there?
Burgas, like Plovdiv, is one of the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria. And I was born there and I can’t say a bad word. What happens in soccer there is extremely unpleasant because that city deserves to have professional soccer.
Is it easy to catch Todor Nedelev’s shot?
I admit that it is not easy for me, but I suppose this is the case for me and for most of the goalkeepers in Bulgaria. Toshko has an extremely well-aimed strike and is difficult to react.
Which defender are you most sure of?
I couldn’t say a specific name because they are all quite good and experienced soccer players. In general, calm should come from the entire line of defense and, naturally, from the goalkeeper.
What is your favorite team of the English Championship?
To be honest, my favorite team is playing in Spain – Real (Madrid). Liverpool have left a very good impression on me in England and I think this season has been the best of them for many years.
Which of the Botev players impresses you the most?
There are some pretty good players on Botev, known names. Such are Toshko, Lacho, Bandalovski, Mitko Pirgov. I don’t want to continue because I can miss someone. But let’s say that right now Botev (Pd) ‘s face is Toshko Nedelev.
What do you think about most often when you are at the door?
I try not to think about secondary things while training or during a game. I hope to be fully focused on what is happening on the field.
What is your opinion about playing for the Bulgarian Cup?
There are people who need to think about it. Our job is, as soon as they tell us, to start preparing and preparing well and playing them, whether it’s two games or more.
What were your impressions of the bullets before signing with Botev?
My impressions were that they were unique and one of the best audiences. And they showed it in the final of the Bulgarian Cup.
What brand do you prefer for goalkeeper gloves?
The gloves I prefer and currently wear are Elite. I use them because they are extremely comfortable, which is the most important thing for a goalkeeper.
What else do you like to do besides playing soccer, of course?
The things I enjoy about not soccer are nature walks, going to the movies, dining with friends. Overall, I love a more relaxed atmosphere.
How did you feel in the first games when you were in the reserve and how are you now when you are the owner?
Of course, not all soccer players were comfortable when I was in the reserve. But the goalkeeping position is such that you have to train, constantly demonstrate your worth, so that the time comes to constantly play and win your place.
How did you decide to become a goalkeeper?
Like most goalkeepers, I started out as a field player. But by coincidence, I have an older cousin who was a goalkeeper and instead of soccer shoes, he sent me gloves. I had to use them somehow.
