975 are confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria according to data from the national operational headquarters. To date, 9 new cases have been tested, 5 in Sofia and 4 in Vidin.
They put the Bukovlak village under a 14-day quarantine.
281 are people with confirmed COVID-19 who are hospitalized under medical supervision. 40 are COVID-19 patients who are in intensive care units and clinics.
COVID-19 was installed in 80 medical personnel. In general terms, as of April 21: 506 of the COVID-19 cases registered in our country were for men and 469 for women.
“Sofia remains the largest home with 556 cases, 146 are in the hospital, 22 are in intensive care,” said Professor Mutafchiiski.
The deadlines for the entry of workers to Sofia are falling
The number of infected doctors is also increasing. Due to the risk to emergency teams, they surveyed all available equipment, 783 people, with rapid tests. 266 of them are positive, followed by a second, this time, PCR test:
“A total of 13 people tested positive after the second test. They are under quarantine for home treatment. I have heard from all of them and are feeling well,” explained Dr. Georgi Gelev, Director of Emergency Services.

Meanwhile, women’s consultations, childhood vaccinations, and planned surgeries have been resolved today. There is also an order in which the exams will be conducted:
“The fact that we have provided the opportunity for vaccination days on Tuesday and Thursday is to warn people not to use GPs for other purposes so that they do not mix,” said associate professor Angel Kunchev.
Despite the increased number of patients in wards, expected due to renewed planned admissions, the staff are adamant: There is no plan to screen each newcomer:
“This would make it impossible for laboratories to operate,” said Professor Mutafchiiski.
However, there are safety instructions in all health facilities in the country: up to 24 hours after admission, each patient is monitored for symptoms and, if administered, is immediately tested.
