Although it has been raining in Sofia all night, hundreds of protesters have gathered again in Independence Square to demand the resignation of the government and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev for the 90th consecutive night. Today’s protest is titled “We are not afraid,” and the procession to the Eagle Bridge began earlier than usual and around 9 pm the key crossing was blocked.
However, many people stayed under the tents in front of the presidency to hide from the rain. No political speeches were projected on the wall of parliament. Organizers also stopped throwing eggs at the National Assembly building, which is now in the former Party House.
Today, 161 other intellectuals have signed an open letter against “The model: Borisov-Dogan-Peevski.” Thus, their total number already exceeds 1,000 people. The main theme of tonight’s protest was yesterday’s debate in the European Parliament.
“What happened yesterday in the European Parliament is a great success of the protests in Bulgaria. Obviously we are no longer afraid, so her mother regrets it.
