The protesters demanded the resignation of the government and the chief prosecutor for night 82 in the center of Sofia.
Dissatisfied people traditionally gathered around the fountain in front of the presidency. There were whistles and chants of “Resignation.” A larger tent was erected in front of the old Party House. Bul. Tsar Osvoboditel was closed to traffic from the presidency to the National Gallery of Art. There was a police presence in the area, BTA reported.
The protesters also demanded the resignation of the mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova. Among their demands are: remote and mechanical voting, early elections, convening a Grand National Assembly to amend the Constitution.
The protest organizers commented on the establishment of Tsvetan Tsvetanov’s party, saying that he and Boyko Borissov depend on each other and will be “one family” again in the next parliament.
Arman Babikyan of the organizers recalled that they are planning a large protest rally on October 3 at 5 pm Velislav Minekov said that they will not forget the anger from the start of the protests and that they will go to the square every day until Borissov’s resignation . Minekov also said that they had informed more than 700 MEPs by letters about how European funds were being stolen in Bulgaria.
Traditionally, the protest ended with the national anthem and a procession to the Eagle Bridge.
