For the 67th consecutive night, citizens gathered to protest around the Fountain of the Presidency in Sofia, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, the resignation of Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, and fair elections.
Shortly before 8 pm, unhappy with the government blocked traffic on Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. A video of MEP Claire Daly was shown in the parliament building, in which she expresses her support for the protests in our country and hopes to join to them in the future. Arman Babikyan of the Poison Trio said they would do everything they can to make that happen.
The participants greeted the Bulgarians in Vienna with applause for today’s protest there. The “Poison Trio” noted that there was an interesting protest in Stara Zagora, where Stara Zagora residents buried the ruling party’s headquarters with manure.
Images of the arrests were also shown on the night of the first “Great People’s Uprising” on September 2. To this day, Borisov has not apologized for this bloody Wednesday, Velislav Minekov said.
The “Trio Veneno” announced that the next “Great Uprising of the People” will be on September 22 at 5 pm in the Plaza de la Independencia. They said they would not negotiate with the prime minister and would continue to demand his resignation until the end. Nikolay Hadjigenov said that on the 22nd they will indicate the five priorities for the future of Bulgaria.
After the speeches, the national anthem was played and protesters marched to Eagle Bridge.
