The case report was received around 8 a.m. Monday. The cause of the flames was self-ignition, company management said. The fire covered about 800 square meters of the warehouse, which has a total area of 4 acres. Firefighters’ efforts were aimed at disrupting the fire and preventing it from spreading.
Teams from regional services in Svishtov, Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Pavlikeni, the company’s departmental fire department are involved in fighting the flames. Four water carriers were brought from the municipality, as well as a train with 50 tons of water, from which to recharge the fire trucks.
There is no danger of gassing Svishtov, management said. The regional eco-inspection station found no drastic deviations in air quality.
Svilosa does not work due to a production accident and a boiler explosion two months ago.
